Exceptional Terlingua Calcite from the famous Little 38 Mine, Terlingua, Brewster County, Texas, featuring a prominent triangular fluorescent zoning and spectacular multi-wavelength UV response. These mines have been closed for years, and many have been reclaimed, making the collection of new material very difficult, if not impossible.

One of the most prized characteristics of classic Terlingua calcite is its distinctive triangular zoning and the long phosphorescence, where concentrated areas within the calcite produce dramatically brighter fluorescence. This specimen displays an especially prominent triangle near the center of the display face. Triangular fluorescent zones are a recognized characteristic of Terlingua calcite and are specifically sought after. Little 38 material can remain visibly phosphorescent for around 60 seconds or longer after the UV source is removed. A perfect example of classic Terlingua calcite. Includes original collection labels.
