Sodalite exhibiting a slight tenebrescence, bright orange LW, slightly dimmer SW. Under white light areas of the sodalite have a bluish hue, we're not sure of the reason. These areas are less fluorescent, possibly an unidentified mineral that is a homogenous blend with sodalite. All sits on a bed of lujavrite.
The area these pieces were found is also unusual - a spot in the middle of the Taseq Slope, no other major deposits found in the area.
A major component of rock collecting (for us) is simply getting out in nature. A buddy dragged us out to a very remote area here in middle Tennessee to hunt for fluorescent green agate. Since we consider ourselves pure "Glow Hounds" we weren't anticipating any glow rocks, just the beauty of the area, but we brought our UV lights anyway.
