A beautiful, oval cabochon of authentic Greenland nuummite. This piece displays a rich, black color with a large shimmering band of anthophyllite and gedrite. A great piece for jewelry.
Nuummite is of volcanic origin and a metamorphic rock composed primarily of two minerals: anthophyllite and gedrite. It is believed to have been formed about 3 billion years ago.

Red sodalite is named for the color it takes on when exposed to sunlight; it is nicely tenebrescent under longwave UV. Under shortwave UV the color deepens, in seconds, to almost black in some areas.
