A wonderful kit to start collecting. The box it comes in and the information slip included are of good quality. The whole kit is a better value than buying each item separately.
It is rare to be so happily surprised by a mail order of such an uncommon product, but this small 6-piece kit is great. Nice selection of samples, great rechargeable UV light, good documentation and warnings, safety goggles, and fabulous glowing of the rocks. And at $49.99 including shipping, the price is right.
I asked for a small piece. It came as advertised, and WOW does it glow! Just like their photo. It also came with a small chip of (maybe) calcite which gives an amazing beautiful blue phosphorescence after turning my shortwave off of it. Nice pink under longwave. Wish I had a larger chunk of it. It was given for free so thanks!
Fantastic examples of rare minerals from Greenland that have beautiful fluorescent characteristics. Tugtupite, sodalite, analcime and chkalovite with more common associated minerals. Also, tenebrescence of the sodalite is unreal! Very nicely packed and quickly shipped. A great source to buy minerals from - AAA+ seller.
This is a really nice collection of minerals. I’m impressed with the nice “Fluorescent Mineral Guide” included inside which gives a nice informational insight into the different wavelengths used in UV reactive minerals. Added to the box is a nice little long wave light. My minerals glow as brilliantly as the pictures show on their site.

This sodalite radiates an incredible orange and green colour under medium-wave UV light. The uranyl emits 1.7 microsieverts per hour. The order and dispatch went smoothly.

I just received my GloBox Mini and could not be happier! This simple display is perfect for displaying several fluorescent minerals at once. Item received as described/photograph and was well packed. Grandson has a 'growing' collection of fluorescent minerals -short/mid/long wave. This piece glows for all the uv range but reacts to the 255nm lamp for the best result.

This small black light is exactly what I was hoping for. Something small that fits in a pocket that works great in finding flourescent minerals. I will be buying a second one for my husband so we won't have to share.
This is a small bottle of specimens, but using different UV lights you get to see orange and red colors. My students enjoyed seeing the differences during their laboratory session.
The box set far exceeded my expectations. The 6 specimens showed wonderful colors with the provided UV light. The sizes of each specimen is fine and the box is well made. I used this as part of a laboratory session and my students were amazed by the colors they observed using different UV lights.
They were nicknamed "Yooperlites" which is derived from the name “yooper”. A yooper is a nickname for the Upper Peninsula natives and these fluorescent stones quickly gained fame. After data was published on these fluorescent stones, it was discovered that sodalite is the actual true mineral that is fluorescing orange.
365nm UV light is often called "blacklight". Before the advent of longwave UV LEDs, blacklight fluorescent tubes, (the kinds used in hippie days to light up psychedelic posters) were the standard longwave UV light for our hobby. They were not very powerful but they did light a large area.
Enter 365nm UV LEDs
First, an animation showing the difference between the UV flashlight we recommend (365nm filtered UV flashlight) versus unfiltered 395nm UV flashlights we see many folks carrying around at shows. So. much. visible purple light. We selected a bunch of rocks as a demonstration. Took pictures of them under his flashlight without the filter and then with the filter.
We post minerals on Ebay at auction every other Thursday starting at 9pm EST. They run for ten days until Sunday night 9pm EST. The cycle repeats on the next Thursday resulting in specimens listed for sale every two weeks.
