Gem material, with polylithionite on Analcime - amazing MW response

A large chunk of tugtupite - much of it gem quality - on a snow-white analcime matrix. The red tugtupite glow is strong and certainly lives up to its reputation as the “King of Fluorescents” but this rarity has an exceptional response under midwave - almost like leucophanite. It is also very strong under LW. The analcime matrix has a dull magenta glow, and much of it also glows from the tugtupite that is disseminated in the matrix.

I was not able to take “natural” pics (before tenenbrescence set in) because it had already changed color from exposure to sunlight while carrying it to the house from storage. Gem tugtupite does not fade easily (or quickly) so I can just show the tenebrescent pics.

Greenland
Greenland is home to over 250 varieties of minerals. Many of them are fluorescent and new ones are being discovered each year. Tugtupite is perhaps the most famous mineral from Greenland - famous for its deep saturated red glow. Sodalite (var hackmanite) has become famous in the past few years as one of the deepest “color-change” varieties found and is always in great demand. Other rarities include chkalovite, ussingite, sorensenite, polylithionite, analcime, and more. Many of these are tenebrescent, phosphorescent, and have varied responses under multiple wavelengths. All are excessively rare.
