Sodalite can be found in almost every area of the Ilimaussaq Complex. Some areas produce specific varieties which are listed on the other pages in this section, while other areas produce general varieties - either not in any quantity, or in varieties that are found most everywhere.
Often sodalite is mixed with other minerals to create combination specimens (of which the predominant mineral is sodalite). This is especially the case with ussingite where the two minerals seem to “combine” and it’s sometimes hard to tell them apart.
