The Fluorescent Minerals of China

Since 2007 MinerShop has been exploring the remote areas of China for new fluorescent mineral discoveries. In cooperation with a mineral dealer in China we have discovered a couple of areas producing some quite exotic specimens. This is ongoing exploration and will hopefully result in a new wave of fluorescent minerals from a country famous for non-fluorescent minerals.

Eucrypite and Scheelite

China Locales - Although a vast country with huge mineral resources, little attention has been paid to fluorescent minerals from this area. We are slowly developing certain localities and the results are encouraging.

Fluorescent Minerals - Scheellite, manganocalcite, some fluorites, and the occasional oddball fluorescent mineral are the few well-known FL specimens from China. New discoveries include a very bright eucryptite, and a wonderfully patterned fluorite/.calcite.
