Note: If schedule changes bother you, canceled flights, etc - be forewarned. Flying in the arctic is an “iffy” thing. High winds, fog, and general weather conditions can quickly change flight schedules, cancel flights, or even force landings at alternate airports. It is part of traveling in the arctic and we just figure out what to do when it happens. One way or another, everyone seems to get there....

Just for clarity - “Iceland Air” is different from “Air Iceland”. One flies international,
the other domestic (I guess due to the weather conditions they consider Greenland domestic).

Outbound Leg - Leaving Baltimore at 8:45PM we arrive in Iceland the next day at 6:25AM. The day will be spent transferring from the international airport to the domestic airport and.... waiting.

At 3:15 in the afternoon we will leave Iceland and magically arrive in Greenland at 3:15 in the afternoon (time zone changes, not time travel). From Narsarsuaq we will take a 2 hour ferry ride to Narsaq, our final destination.
Returning Leg - After 10 days of “hard rock mining” we will leave Narsaq (by ferry) to depart for Iceland at 4pm. We arrive in Iceland at 8pm - too late to catch the flight to the states. Each tour member must arrange for accommodations in Iceland (ranging from cheap guesthouses to $250/night hotels). The next day we catch the flight to the states at 4:40pm.
