The general understanding is that tugtupite often forms as a replacement mineral of chkalovite. Very often one will find specimens of chkalovite rimmed by a vein of bright red FL tugtupite.
The fluorescence of chkalovite appears to be widely variable. We have noted colors ranging from bright green, blue, blue/white to white. Some appear to be quite phosphorescent.
